Counseling provides a framework for an individual to work toward internal changes through insight, understanding, problem solving and addiction/behavioral intervention or support that helps an individual cope with stressful events that trigger a crisis.
A Case Manager provides management and coordination of mental health and addiction services. The Case Manager provides support and assists individuals to obtain needed services in the community. Case Management services also build resilience and improve and assist an individual to succeed in the community. Services are provided in the home as needed.
Individuals living with a mental illness, who also have a substance abuse or addiction problem, receive both mental health and substance abuse services to assist in their recovery.
Physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses and Registered Nurses educate, speak with, and manage each individual to ensure that the individual understands the diagnosis, symptoms, medications taken and the medications’ potential side effects.
