Lakewood Community Services Center

Kids need healthy food and healthy activities during the summer months

Because of COVID-19, we could not offer this wonderful program during summer 2020 and 2021, but we will be back in 2022!

LCSC offers this summer program for Lakewood students in grades K through 5 who qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year.  Kids have opportunities including bowling at Mahall’s 20 Lanes, swim lessons at Madison Pool, library time at the Lakewood Public Library Madison Branch, field trips to the Lake Erie Nature Center in the Cleveland Metroparks and to the Rocky River Nature & Science Center in Bay Village, lots of outdoor play at Madison Park and crafts and games on rainy days.

And then there are the delicious lunches prepared by Lakewood’s own Karen King Catering. The menus include fresh fruit and fresh veggies every day.  Who knew eating healthy could be so yummy??

The program is run by five LCSC summer staff members assisted by high school volunteers. Registration forms will be sent to all Lakewood elementary schools just after spring break 2022. This is a first come first served program and the 80 slots fill quickly. Make sure to get your child(ren) registered as early as possible!
